Welcome to our dojo at The Portsmouth Grammar School, Southsea, Portsmouth, UK.
We practise traditional Aikido and Aiki-Jujutsu in the Iwama style, preserving the teachings of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. Our training combines effective self-defence with personal development, helping students improve their confidence, awareness, discipline, and physical fitness.
Our Sensei holds the following grades:
4th Dan – Takemusu Iwama Aikido Europe (TIAE)
2nd Dan – EFA
1st Dan – Aikikai Foundation
Our dojo is affiliated with Takemusu Iwama Aikido Europe (TIAE) and follows both the TIAE and the Aikikai Foundation curricula.
Classes are held twice a week:
Tuesday: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Thursday: 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Training includes both:
Taijutsu – empty-hand techniques
Bukiwaza – traditional weapons practice (bokken, jo and tanto)
£10 per class
